Stitcher maintenance
If you install a stitcher to enhance the appeal of your printed products by giving them a magazine-like appearance, you want to be sure that it will continue to deliver the same high level of quality and reliability for years to come. We recommend regular maintenance, which we routinely carry out for a pre-agreed fixed price that includes an initial detailed inspection of all the basic stitcher settings and their adjustment as necessary. For the actual maintenance work on section and ribbon stitchers we offer a choice of two packages:
The small package is recommended for annual maintenance cycles. Work is carried out on site by a qualified KBA service technician and normally takes just one or two days, including a final test run with paper.
The large package entails removing the stitcher and giving it a complete overhaul at our Frankenthal facility, which takes four to five working days. The advantage of this is that any defects or badly worn parts can be remedied and repaired immediately. All the spare parts fitted or assembled are guaranteed for six months..
Small maintenance package
- Maintenance interval approx. 3,000 operating hours or 1 year
- Inspection of lubrication system, control cams etc.
- Replacement of tools (e.g. plungers, guides etc.)
Large maintenance package
- Maintenance interval approx. 10,000 operating hours or 2 to 3 years
- Based on annual folder maintenance on site
- Replacement of stitcher (e.g. nozzles, trolleys, needle bearings, wire-bending rollers etc.)
