Inking unit temperature control
Temperature fluctuations have negative effects on process stability. For this reason, the presses of the Rapida family are already prepared for the installation of inking unit temperature control as standard. In other words, the ink duct roller and three oscillating distributors are already provided with the necessary bores for circulation of a coolant. The temperature control medium is a water-glycol mixture. This auxiliary system serves to maintain a constant temperature in the inking unit. It provides both heating and cooling functions, i.e. the circulating water can be heated at the start of production, while the press is still cold, and then cooled after the press has warmed up.
Benefits
- Constant temperature in the inking unit during the printing process and after longer interruptions to production
- No variation in ink consistency
- Constant print quality over the whole run
- Minimised inking fluctuations and thus less need for repeated adjustment
- Reduced waste
- No need for constant inking corrections during production
Scope
- Inking unit temperature control system with console integration
- Installation material for the printing units
- Installation, parts and commissioning
