Products presented in an unusual format, e.g. compact magazine, have more visual appeal because unfamiliar things arouse our interest.
One popular technical option for enhancing product diversity is to retrofit a quarterfold capability. This originated in publication gravure but is increasingly used for semi-commercials and newspapers as well. Following the first length fold at the former and the first cross fold in the folder the copies are taken by conveyor belt to the quarterfold blade and rollers at the folder board, which transform them into a near-A5 format. The result? Precision-folded copies and satisfied recipients.
