CleanTronic
With the KBA CleanTronic system, UV interdeck dryers can remain in standby mode during blanket washing. This helps to regain valuable production time by overcoming the negative consequences of the interlock delay times prescribed by industrial safety legislation for the drying systems on UV presses. A conventional washing cycle on printing units with UV interdeck dryers must take into account two minutes standstill for the lamps to cool before washing, a further two minutes for evaporation of the solvent after washing, and two minutes for the lamps to come back to temperature.
CleanTronic uses a shutter system and special software to avoid needing to switch the UV interdeck dryers off completely during washing.
The shutter system is a closure mechanism comprising pivoted reflectors. The opening and closing of the reflectors is controlled pneumatically. When production is stopped, the shutters are closed and the UV lamp is switched automatically into its standby mode at approx. 30% power. When production is resumed, the shutter re-opens automatically and the lamp is available at production temperature immediately (no cooling or reheating phases).
