DensiTronic
DensiTronic is a measuring system for users for whom purely densitometric quality assessment on the basis of printed colour bars is already sufficient. The high-speed densitometer is mounted directly onto the ErgoTronic console of the Rapida presses and permits off-press density measurements and control, including documentation of the results, without occupying additional space. The measurements are performed on a linear pass across colour bars printed on the front edge of the sheet. Back-edge measurement is possible simply by rotating the sheet. The colour bars themselves are aligned to stand between 3 and 23 mm from the front or back edge of the sheet. Between 1 and 2 minutes are required to set up the measuring function at each job change, assuming that the predefined colour bars are used. The actual measurement is fully automatic, taking between 4 seconds on a Rapida 74 and 8 seconds on a Rapida 205.
