Flying JobChange
With the additional function module “KBA Flying JobChange”, practically uninterrupted print production becomes reality. A subsequent job is set up parallel to the current production on printing units which are not presently in use.
Business models for which Flying JobChange is especially meaningful include predominantly 1/1 production on a four-colour Rapida 106 with perfecting after the second unit, or multiple-language imprints in four-colour products on a six-colour press. The press must be configured with the option KBA Plate Ident, among others, as a prerequisite for Flying JobChange.
Function principle illustrated with the example of a RA106-4 SW2
- While production is running on printing units 1&3 (blue), the plates are changed in printing units 2&4 (red)
- Upon completion of the first job, the forme rollers are lifted in units 1&3 and the residual ink is printed off from the blanket with the “print clean" function
- Subsequently, the sheet travel is interrupted, the press decelerates to the selected quick-start speed (up to 12,000 sph), and the ink forme rollers are dropped on units 2&4
- This procedure can be repeated as often as you wish until blanket washing becomes necessary
Benefits
- No makeready time for plate changing
- Cost savings with short run lengths
Scope
- Press software update
- Installation, commissioning and training
