Würzburg is a university city in northern Bavaria renowned both in Germany and abroad for its fine architecture and wine. This is where Koenig & Bauer, the world's first and oldest press manufacturer, has been based since 1817. The 2,000 employees at our Würzburg headquarters manufacture newspaper and directory presses. >>> 

The 300 staff at our competence centre in Trennfeld, not far from Würzburg, build subassemblies for our commercial and newspaper presses, all of which are manufactured either singly or in small series. In addition to commissioning the presses our Trennfeld technicians also install complete reel-logistics systems. >>>  

Formerly known as Albert-Frankenthal, our facility in Frankenthal (near Ludwigshafen) manufactures Compacta commercial offset presses and high-performance folders for all KBA web presses. It has a workforce of around 1,100 people. >>> 

Printing presses have been manufactured in Radebeul near Dresden, in the scenic Elbe valley, for more than a century. Our high-tech Radebeul facility (formerly Planeta) with employs around 2,300 people makes medium to superlarge Rapida sheetfed offset presses. >>> 

KBA-Bielefeld, a design centre for optical quality control systems, is located close to the universities and colleges with which it collaborates closely on research projects. The systems developed here include the NotaSave colour-inspection system for security presses and QualiTronic für Rapida sheetfed presses. Our Bielefeld staff also write hardware and software programs, test and fine-tune cameras and optics, develop sensors, design illumination systems and formulate image-processing algorithms. >>> 

Our 800-strong Austrian subsidiary in Mödling, near Vienna, produces security presses and sheetfed offset subassemblies. Its business association with the Würzburg parent company dates back to the early 20th century. >>> 

KBA-MetalPrint provides a complete one-stop service. The technology to support product creation from the initial design to the printed and stacked sheets includes sheet-handling systems as well as catalytic, thermal and regenerative thermal air-purification systems – new business fields in which KBA sees considerable potential for future growth. >>> 

Based in Veitshöchheim, near Würzburg, KBA-Metronic manufactures industrial ID systems (inkjet, hot stamping, laser, thermal transfer) and UV offset presses for printing CDs, DVDs, CDRs and plastic cards. >>> 

The 500 staff at KBA-Grafitec in Dobruška, near Hradec Králové, manufacture small-format sheetfed offset presses. >>> 

KBA North America Inc. in Williston, Vermont, handles all sales and service for KBA sheetfed and web presses in the USA and Canada. The 170 staff in Williston and at various regional offices provide on-the-spot customer care and an excellent after-sales service. >>>
