Impression cylinder washing

The cloth-based impression cylinder washing system serves to keep the cylinders clean. The washing system is controlled during production via the ErgoTronic console, where the cloth consumption and the end of a cloth roll are reported automatically with the aid of a sensor on the cloth spindle. With the optional “Impact” version, the conventional, dry washing cloth is replaced by special pre-packed rolls of ready-dampened cloth on a disposable spindle. As the pre-packed rolls have already been impregnated with a washing solvent, the usual spray-metering of solvent within the washing process is rendered superfluous. The washing system on the press requires only a water supply, and it is also no longer necessary to wind individual spindles of cloth from a bulk supply roll.
