Rapida 74 G

You want to raise your productivity and efficiency, especially for short runs, and at the same time do something for the environment? You work with expensive substrates, where each sheet of waste is immediately felt in your wallet? You want to give your printed products that special shine which distinguishes them from those of your competitors? Then let us pursue these goals together! The futureoriented concept of the KBA Rapida 74G – waterless and keyless sheetfed offset – promises you sustained differentiation and the opportunity to develop a truly individual style.
The new dimension of printing
Be anything but commonplace. Innovation means standing out from the crowd in your particular branch. New ways of thinking are necessary. With its patented Gravuflow keyless inking technology, the KBA Rapida 74G sets new standards. Ecology and economy are no longer irreconcilable opposites – on the contrary. But one fact is clear: This press is far more than just a declaration of love for the environment.
The KBA Rapida 74G exudes the selfconfident pride of a typical Rapida! The same robustness, flexibility and ergonomic design. Modern console operation, CIP4-compliant networking and automatic washing systems – also for the impression cylinders – are standard features. And automatic plate changing, as well. There are just two things you might miss at first: Dampening units and ink keys. But you will soon forget that such components ever existed…
Leave the crowds behind – and enter the new dimension of printing.

Gravuflow inking unit
The waterless and keyless Gravuflow short-train inking unit defines a whole new set of benchmarks for efficiency and performance in offset printing. You, too, will be convinced before you know it: Unbelievably fast makeready times, a minimum of startup waste and the high production reliability speak for themselves.
The Gravuflow keyless inking units combine cutting-edge engineering and economic dependability. They comprise merely a chamber blade system, a ceramic-coated, laser-engraved anilox roller and an ink forme roller. That is all! Printing could hardly be simpler: Ink key settings? – Gone! Ink-water balance? – Gone! Ghosting and streaking with difficult formes? – Gone! The continuously rotating anilox roller guarantees constantly even inking of the forme roller and plate. Do you still believe that you are going to miss your ink keys and dampening units?
Tweak the screws where they really matter! The waterless and keyless Gravuflow inking technology is the ideal basis for consistent process standardisation and systematic quality control, reducing the complex interactions inherent to the print process and eliminating sources of error. Successful implementation of colour management means that quality is definitely no longer a question of luck. Through process standardisation, quality can now be measured, documented and proven!
We know for sure: You, too, will soon succumb to the charms of the innovative Gravuflow technology.

Short makeready
But what is a fast inking unit worth without convincing automation? Nothing. And for that reason, the KBA Rapida 74G also packs a high-tech punch in its many other eye-catching features. What does that mean?
The ink forme rollers, blankets and impression cylinders are washed in a matter of minutes with the fully automatic Impact washing systems of the KBA Rapida 74G. An automatic plate changing system with position sensors in the individual clamps provides for fast and register-accurate mounting and tensioning of the waterless printing plates. With ACR Control, the lateral, circumferential and diagonal register can be checked and corrected quickly and precisely. Inking unit temperature control is an absolute must for waterless offset and fast press makeready. In fact, a whole host of intelligent automation solutions serve to speed up job changeovers and secure your profitability in short-run production. Don’t be surprised, therefore, if you find no time to take a breather!
The KBA Rapida 74G is also open to all forms of inline finishing. A broad diversity of dispersion and UV coatings can be applied through the anilox coating unit. The dryer concept includes even UV interdeck modules, allowing immediate further processing also with UV inks.
Fast makeready, shining finishes and the benefits of the Gravuflow inking units make the KBA Rapida 74G a quite unique press.

Duty to the environment
Turn on the water? No thanks! If you want to ensure that you cannot end up out of your depth, simply get rid of the water altogether. The KBA Rapida 74G, after all, has no need for dampening units. That means: No water, no alcohol, no additives. And thus no costs!
Reducing start-up waste to just a few sheets is another plus when it comes to ecology. You can save thousands of sheets, day after day. That is not only good for your bottom line, it also eliminates unnecessary CO2 emissions. Efficient ink supplies from a fully automatic cartridge system and the reduced solvent and washing fabric consumption are further contributions to an ecological print process. It goes almost without saying that such a press has received the internationally recognised eco-certificate “Emissiontested”.
Would you also like to do something for the environment? Calculate the carbon footprint of your own production processes, and compensate the unavoidable emissions through the purchasing and cancellation of emission certificates. After all, “climate-neutral printing” is not only an investment in our common future, it also represents added value for the customers buying your products.
Ecology hand in hand with economy – the KBA Rapida 74G shows how it can be done..
